Onkalo - meaning small cave or cavity in Finnish.
Each piece of jewellery is made with the next 24,000 years kept in mind. What will the world look like when all the buried Plutonium-239 has reached it’s half life? Onkalo jewellery is designed to be found in holes; ready to be interpreted when all religious symbolism or iconography has lost its meaning. Each piece is carefully handmade, driven by the desire to produce as little waste as possible whilst using ecological materials - inspired by Philosophy, Science Fiction and a deep hatred of the British class system.
