Issy’s work is the result of frustration at her limited knowledge of how things function; a stubborn impulse for self-sufficiency. She is an auto-didact, fumbling for understanding through making. 

 

It is a pseudo-pedagogy, an inverted archeology, a nostalgia for things not experienced. Fragmentary in nature, Issy’s work is Polyfillerd with mythical thought, the whimsical and obscure.
